  3. The Magi at the Manger                           Matt. 2:1-2, 9-10

Context/Discussion/Comments:

I have strayed slightly from the Harmony Texts so as to use an outline I used once for a Christmas devotional.  You can see that it is included within the Harmony Texts.

Note the purpose and the pronouncements associated with each scene.

Purpose Pronouncement
Mary and Joseph at the Manger: * to deliver the Light

* to fulfill the Promise

* to present the King

Behold your Child, a Savior for you.
The Shepherds at the Manger: * to see the Light

* to rejoice in the Promise

* to praise the King

Behold your Messiah, a Savior for you.
The Magi at the Manger: to follow the Light

* to locate the Promise

* to worship the King

Behold your King, a Savior for you.

For unto you this day is born in the city of David, a child which is Christ the Lord.

Behold, the Light of the World!

Lessons/Applications:

The Light has come.  Go meet Him.  Worship Him.  Follow Him.  He is Christ the Lord.
